Have a question ? We are here to help.
Minor issues may occur during daily use, many of which can be resolved without needing a technician. The following information offers solutions to common problems. Alternatively, you can explore solutions using the visual navigation below:
1. What size of range hood do I need?
Measure the width of your current stove or cabinet, it is either 24", 30" or 36".
2. What is the required height for my range hood?
Measure the distance from under the cabinet to the top of your stove. Use that measurement, minus the height of your desired machine. You will have the required height distance.
We recommend 25" to 30" distance for required height.
3. What is the duct size required for my range hood?
For all Sakura range hood, we recommend 6" duct or larger for 700 or higher cfm models.
If you have a smaller duct, you can buy a reducer accordingly.
4. What is the venting position of a range hood?
There are 3 venting positions for a range hood. They are top round opening, top rectangular opening or back rectangular opening. Check your current model for a correct venting type, if you are not sure, take a picture of the existing model and contact our store salesperson.
5. What is the ceiling height required for wall mount range hood?
Measure from the top of the floor to the bottom of the ceiling, the distance is either 8',9' or 10'.
If you have a box under ceiling as shown in the picture, you minus 1', so you get the smaller flue version.
6. What is the advantage of DC motors?
Calm starting and speed regulation performance, wide and smooth speed regulation range, strong overload capacity, and little influence by electromagnetic interference; DC motor has good starting characteristics and speed regulation characteristics; The Torque of the DC motor is relatively large; Maintenance is cheaper; Compared with AC, the DC motor is more energy-saving and environmentally friendly.
7. What is the advantage of centrifugal motors?
They create higher pressure differentials to push air out, therefore creating a higher cfm.
8. My machine comes with a 3 prong power plug but I don't have a power outlet.
Simply cut the plug and peel off the rubber around the three copper wire exposed, connect them to the main power source using the crimping cap provided. Match the color of the wires. If you don't have a ground wire, just put the crimping cap on by itself.
9. My machine comes with a power cable of 3 copper wires exposed but I have a power outlet.
Find a 3 prong connector of unused appliance or power strip, cut the connector and connect to the machine's 3 copper wires using the crimping cap provided. Then plug the 3 prong connector into the power outlet.
10. I feel my range hood venting power is not as strong as before.
Find a 3 prong connector of unused appliance or power strip, cut the connector and connect to the machine's 3 copper wires using the crimping cap provided. Then plug the 3 prong connector into the power outlet.
11. My machine has power but the control is not responding.
On certain model, there is a lock function which allows the machine to be cleaned without triggering control. Simply press and hold the power button for 5 seconds to unlock.
12. Why is my range hood appears to be white when I order the stainless steel color version?
There is a layer of white-greyish protective film covering brand new machines, simply peel it off before installation.
13. Why do I feel the suction power is not strong enough?
The cfm number listed for each machine is measured under ideal condition. The size of your ducting, the length of your ducting, the number of elbows of your ducting greatly affects the efficiency of the range hood. For maximum cfm, contacting our experienced technician to make changes to your current ducting work might be required.
